Postpartum Bath Soak


Purposefully blended Postpartum Sitz Soak to soothe the perineum and relieve soreness after childbirth. Lavender essential oil adds a calming aromatherapy experience to help your body and mind to relax and reflect and maintain your sense of wellbeing.

For a full bath bath use 3-4 tablespoons.
For a sitz bath use 1-2 tablespoon.

Directions: Put your herbs in the re-useable muslin tea bag and put in a shallow bowl. Cover with 2 cups boiling water. Steep for approx. 5 minutes, and let cool. Add to the tub and add warm water to cover your hips & buttocks, for a sitz bath or fill up for a full bath and enjoy.

Save some of the liquid in the refrigerator and use in your peri bottle for bathroom comfort or pour on maternity pads and freeze for continual ease and healing.

Each pack makes 3-4 full baths or 6-12 sitz baths depending how much you use per bath.

Witch Hazel: Witch hazel has the ability to tighten skin and reduce inflammation. It has been used in traditional herbal medicine primarily for their antiseptic and astringent properties and is an ideal remedy for reducing vaginal swelling and swelling of haemorrhoids.

Plantain leaf: Plantain has a wide-range of antimicrobial properties besides being anti-inflammatory and analgesic. It soothes superficial wounds, prevents infections, accelerate healing and helps with skin tissue regeneration.

Yarrow: Yarrow has a natural capacity for stopping the flow of blood due to it’s volatile oils that contribute to its ability to fight bacteria and fungal growth. Its anti-inflammatory properties also make it a useful herbal ally for inflamed, swollen tissues and for wound repair.

Comfrey: Comfrey helps to build up injured areas quickly because it contains a therapeutic compound known as allantoin, which promotes cell proliferation. Its demulcent properties help to reduce inflammation.

Calendula: Calendula has great anti-inflammatory and helps soothe sore, inflamed and itchy skin.

Chamomile: Long accepted as one of the safest herbs chamomile has been used for centuries as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, mild astringent for wounds and haemorrhoids.

Lavender: A natural anti-inflammatory that helps to reduce redness and heat in the skin. It also has a uniquely calming herbal and floral aroma.
